This course is designed to provide information regarding the circumstances and events leading up to and surrounding the Robb Elementary School Shooting in Uvalde, Texas. It will delve into the incident with a comprehensive classroom discussion of the facts to help further understand the events and apply what can be learned moving forward. The course objectives are:
Define: “What is a school shooting?”
Discuss: History of the school shooter
Identify 5 law enforcement takeaways of the characteristics of an active shooter
List the 5 stages of an active shooter
Learn school shooting statistics
Explore Red Flag Laws and their potential impact
Discuss the events leading up to the May 24, 2022 shooting and the timeline the day of the shooting
Analyze the Robb Elementary Investigative Report and consider the lessons learned for law enforcement and 911 telecommunicators
This course will be held in our virtual classroom featuring live instruction and interaction with the instructor and other students in the course. The cost is $275 per person. The course is MCOLES registered for 302 funds and SNC approved for dispatch training funds (MNA2022-3448).
